Metta T'ai Chi / Events

Over the course of a year, the School typically runs two or three residential events.  These range from workshops for teachers and experienced students to share and deepen their practice, through to ‘open’ workshops exploring how Tai Chi and the underlying principles of Tao and Metta can be brought to help us in very practical ways in our lives.

Residential events in the UK are usually held at Roselidden near Helston in Cornwall  – where early morning sessions often take place on the magnificent beach at Gunwalloe.  Or at Springhead, Fontmell Magna, in Dorset with its wonderful mature gardens.

Besides running their regular classes, many individual Teachers also run events to help students develop their practice; these are more likely to be held locally.

Wednesday Morning and Sunday Evening Meditation and Chants

We meet each week at 7.30am on a Wednesday to start the day with this beautiful and simple offering – finishing by 8.00am to allow for other responsibilities to be attended to. Additionally there is a similar session with Tew on Sundays at 5pm (UK time)

There is no need to ‘know’ the chants beforehand – the more important thing is to allow the heart to open, and tremble with compassion for all beings, ourselves included.
